Not as good as the first "Titanic" Piano Songbook

This sheet music collection is of course from James Cameron's "Titanic." Specifically, these songs are found on the second music CD that was released from that movie, "Back to Titanic."
I bought this book because from that second CD there was one particularly good piano solo, "The Portrait." However, I did not find it as enjoyable to play as I thought I would. In the other songbook from "Titanic" that was released is a piece entitled "Rose." That is very similar to "The Portrait" except that "Rose" is a lot more powerful and compelling. "The Portrait" requires a softer touch that what I prefer in piano music.
The other pieces were not as enjoyable as the first "Titanic" songbook (which, by the way, is the best book of soundtrack music, and it can easily be found by searching for its ISBN: 0793592240). A lot of the pieces in this second book are based on songs rather than the score.
Contents: AN IRISH PARTY IN THIRD CLASS * ALEXANDER'S RAGTIME BAND * THE PORTRAIT * JACK DAWSON'S LUCK * A BUILDING PANIC * NEARER MY GOD TO THEE * COME JOSEPHINE, IN MY FLYING MACHINE * A SHORE NEVER REACHED * MY HEART WILL GO ON (LOVE THEME FROM TITANIC) * EPILOGUE * THE DEEP AND TIMELESS SEA
The "My Heart Will Go On" song is also in the first "Titanic" songbook. That is a piano/vocal/guitar piece, and I did not find it as enjoyable on the piano as the score music. The rest of the pieces are piano solos (with vocal music included for "Come Josephine"). One big plus in my mind for the book is that the publishers did not waste money on full-color inserts from the movie.
I recommend the other "Titanic" songbook first, and then this only to those who really like the music from the movie.

Just excelent, I believe it has the exact size for musician to read. The content is good, But I found out one of the songs is just an arrangment.

The patterns were well researched, but they were not always well reproduced. One of the patterns was cut off on the bottom. I know this because I have a piece from the fifties with the complete pattern. In fact I embroidered it. I guess I am officially vintage!

I'm very pleased with this book for several of the following reasons. 1) These are REAL vintage embroidery patterns, not someone else's current sketches or doodles or idea of vintage. 2) Gives the history, time line and background for the style of the patterns. Radically God-centered viewpoint

This book was a breath of fresh air in the midst of all the literature out there which tries to answer the age-old question with either an uncaring or an impotent God. Llyod-Jones dives right at the heart of the question by examining the assumptions that we often hold as we ask the question. He is not overly philosophical nor is his manner unsympathetic, as he writes this in the context of a nation at war. However, his conclusions may cause one to shift uncomfortably...and they very well should! He moves man from center stage and places God on the throne: highly offensive for the natural self-centered man. But as offense gives way to faith, Lloyd-Jones's theology opens the way to a greater joy and assurance in a loving and sovereign God who governs all things and works for the good of those who love Him.
Also highly recommended on the same topic is "When God Weeps" by Joni Eareackson Tada and Steve Estes.
